Different plastics can look very similar but behave very differently when heated.
Some plastics can release dangerous fumes or damage your laser.
If you're laser cutting, always check that the material is specifically identified as laser-safe / laser-compatible acrylic and follow your laser manufacturer's safety recommendations.
